Purchasd the Griffin 4045-TRPAUTOS iTrip Auto FM Transmitter with SmartScan for iPod July 2nd because we were going on a trip to Las Vegas and we wanted to listen to our iPod during the trip. When I received the package on July 8th and opened it up, there was a book titled “The Big Short” by Michael Lewis. I called Customer Service and they were going to see if they could get me a replacement and ship it next day, but it would cost about 21.00 more for next day shipping. The Rep said I could get the Amazon Prime Plus and then cancel in a month to cover the shipping!!! I told her just to credit my visa for the price of the Transmitter (and cost of shipping)and send me the return instructions for this stupid book.

I was a frequent customer of Amazon, but after the BS they tried to push by having me purchase the Prime Plus, I think I will be shopping somewhere else.

  2. I have an ipod touch and did my research for an fm transmitter. I decided to go with this since my fiance had a monster and didn’t like it. Well, I wish I would’ve bought the monster instead because comparing it with the griffin itrip, the itrip is not even worth the measly $15 that I spent. I’m always scanning for a station and even when I find a station, I mostly hear static. This product really sucks.

From the first time I plugged this transmitter in, it has not charged my iPod. Unless I charge it before leaving the house, I can’t listen to music. If my iPod battery dies at work, it won’t play on the way home. I had another Griffin model that charged my iPod as it played, so it was always fully charged when I got to work, giving me a whole day of music. This model, however, drains the battery as it plays, even though it’s supposed to charge it. Has anyone else had this problem? I read a bunch of reviews that mentioned static, but I just figured that was because there are so many radio stations here. No one mentioned a problem with charging.

  4. This thing does not work very well at all. More static than music. Don’t waste your money.

The order was sent out in no time, service was great. I will say it looked as though the package had been opened before, maybe something happened while it was in route to me. The product works pretty well and the price was Wonderful!
